Invert Simulation Tool

The comprehensive computer software Invert Simulation Tool provides you with a dynamic modelling tool for:

>>

analysing energy policies and related public costs, (e.g. from subsidies, tax incentives, CO2-tax, feed-in-tariff, soft loans
>> prospecting amount of RES and RUE application, (e.g. from biomass technologies, wind power, solar energy (solar thermal, PV), building refurbishment like insulation, ...)
>> investigating GHG-emissions and energy demand
>> and much more!

Simulations can be carried out for:
>> building related sectors (heating, domestic hot water, cooling)
>> electricity (including CHP)
>> biofuels for transport applications

Invert Simulation Tool guarantees a maximum flexibility regarding the input of individual region specific data like costs, description of the building stock or climate data. Hence, provided this specific data input the tool can be applied to every region in the world. The user may also modify model specific definitions like simulation time frame, interest rates, technology data etc. in a most flexible way.

You may find help regarding the data input from the database that is included in the Invert Simulation Toolbox.

The download package includes the simulation tool, the manual and an example file. Using this example file the main feature of the tool can be tested.

Download Invert Simulation Tool Version 3.1.8 (8.43 MB). The software will be further developed and therefore adapted versions of the software will be available online. The Simulation Tool contains a 'LIVE UPDATE' function which can be used to update your copy of Invert automatically.

The download and installation of Invert Simulation Tool software is free. However, when starting the program for the first time after the setup you will be faced with a registration tool. Please send the e-mail form as it is prepared and you will receive a free registration code enabling the program to run. Moreover, please note that this model is protected by copyright. No liability or warranty is given. License is for non-commercial use only.

Since Invert 1.0.0 a wide variety of new features have been implemented. For a complete list of performed changes refer to the readme file.

System requirements

>> Intel Pentium IV or AMD Processor with 2500 MHz frequency or more, respectively Centrino Mobile Processor with 1700MHz frequency.
>> Minimum of 512Mb RAM.
>> Minimum Screen Resolution 1024*768 (It is recommended to set the screen resolution to 1280*1024
>> 16Bit Colures.
>> Operating system: Win2000, WinXP.

Please note that sometimes Invert can not be installed on Chinese or Japanese Win2000/WinXP operating systems. If you encounter such a problem, we recommend switching to an English based Win2000/WinXP system. We are sorry for this inconvenience, but unfortunately this problem is not easy to influence by us. However, if you have such a problem please inform us: stadler@eeg.tuwien.ac.at, we are working on the problem.

A detailed description regarding the features of the Invert Simulation Tool you may find in the online manual. It includes explanations of the algorithm and instructions how to handle the model and how to carry out simulations. Moreover, the download package also includes a help file that can be opened after you have started Invert Simulation Tool by pressing F1.
